Icefall on Smart's Brook:
If you have not hiked the Smart's Brook trail in Thornton, NH in the winter, you have missed one of the great winter hikes in New Hampshire. Only ten minutes up the trail you will find this small gorge with colorful icefalls. It is breathtaking. The trail is used by hikers, snowshoers, cross country skiers and is easily accessed off the Waterville Valley Road Rte 49 off exit 28 of Interstate 93.
